I am glad I made this purchase. It has some very good stuff even if all you want to do is add features and tidbits to your fantasy-setting Savage Worlds game. Additional weapons, armor, a few spells, and an overall nice campaign setting.I am rating this four stars instead of five because there seems to be a series of "cliffhangers" (for a lack of a better way of putting it) when it comes to the story arc, monsters, equipment and so on. Mr. Fannon speaks of certain things which he will describe in future supplements for Shaintar, but to the best of my knowledge I do not believe he has released anything else besides this and the Player's Guide. I guess you will have to fill in stuff as you see fit.Still, this is definitely worth getting. One word of caution- just about everything in the Player's Guide is in this book, so I don't think there is a real need to buy both. However, the Player's Guide uses a different method for weapon damage and called shots whereas this Gamemaster Guide sticks with the core Savage Worlds rules. If you want to have multiple copies of books or if you are intrigued by the different weapon damage/called shot system, then get the Player's Guide as well. If not, this one by itself will be more than sufficient.

I do so like the setting. If nothing else the characters are all good - no evil characters allowed, and moral codes very recommended. While the author gives all characters starting bonuses, so no one is fresh off the farm, he also ignores money, weight allowances and other bookkeeping things that bog down the system. The ephemeral artwork will either turn you off as black and white sketches or give a dreamy feel. I also liked the card based adventure making system.

Wonderful high fantasy setting for Savage Worlds. Lots of races, and a great plot-point campaign. There is a new edition out, so you might want to look for it, but I just had to have this version as well.

Shain-tar is a savage world's game system. Its fun But I prefer Homebrewed worlds. IT has variations on the old DnD setting, but now with a simpler game mechanic. The game mechanic is designed to play quickly.

I was surprised to see this available on Amazon. I thought it was a great game with a lot of "high fantasy" that made gameplay more than just a dungeon crawl or dice fest. The reason I am surprised it is still listed is that now the author has redesigned the game and released the first of 2 books. Shaintar:Legends Arise covers Novice to Veteran. Sometime soon he will release Heroic and Legendary as a second book. Immortal Legends does cover all the way to legendary but the new books make a lot of changes to the rules in this early work.I still highly recommend this book or you can get the newer Shaintar: Legends Arise. If you like Savage Worlds and good roleplay, you will not be disappointed.

I'm really glad I got this book. I'm an absolute beginner, just got an electric guitar and I wanted something that would be fun to get me started. I'm not a kid but I don't think that matters for this book. The book is thin and there isn't a lot of crucial information in it, for example, no open chords. But somehow it's been incredibly useful to me for my first couple of weeks. On one of the first pages they give you a simple method for tuning your guitar and show you how to hold a pick. No music theory or anything like that. Then the rest of the book has some simple exercises that teach you how to play a few simple notes rhythmically. It goes over very simple power chords next and some really easy riffs. Even though I've graduated to a book with more content, I still use this book every day. It takes me about 10 minutes now to do all of the exercises as a warm up. I also think the songbook that is part of this series is a ton of fun!Get this book if you want your fingers to get used to touching your guitar competently before seeking out lessons. This is the basic stuff that you can teach yourself with the help of this book.

This book will give a young kid just enough to be able to get a sound or two out of an electric guitar. It's just enough to keep them from getting discouraged. That first year is where they either stick with it or sell their axe in a yard sale. With the materials in here, it is far easier for them to keep moving ahead.

Forty pages? Technically, yes, honestly? Several cheap photos of the guitarist ala 1970 Cheetos commercial fill out the pages. Not helpful photos of left and right hand positions, just silly shots. The few photos that are intended to illustrate are not clear. For example the before and after of how to hold a pick is ridiculous. A before shot? Really? The actual shot that would be useful has the camera in the wrong position.There is no music instruction here.No songs.Only power chords, which are not even technically chords.What the kid is supposed to come away with is vague.Give some rhythms, some chord changes, some actual chords, if not actual songs. Save your money. What is of use here in forty pages is covered in a page or three in many other texts. Don't be seduced by the cover. This book is not rock and roll.

i have been playing guitar for over 30 years and have started to teach my daughters, ages 7 and 8, how to play. this book is very simply and clearly written, the best intro book i've seen. adults would enjoy this as much as kids, especially if you have zero experience with the guitar. get this book first, and after you're finished consider moving on to another slightly more complicated beginner book such as "kids guitar course book 1" or similar.

Purchased for a 10 yr old boy - Id say a high beginner level. Its good!

I expected more from this, but I didn't really read much into it. I got it for my nephew for Christmas. When it arrived, I looked through it and found it was over-simplified and very short.

It was back in 2008 and my allergies and asthma were at it's worse. My emergency inhaler wasn't helping much and my other asthma medicines didn't seem to bring me relief. When I went to my doctor he said I had COPD and started me on some new medicine but that didn't help either. I was desperate because I felt like I wasn't going to live much longer not being able to breath right. I started a google search and eventually came across this book and three others about allergies and asthma. I started the diet plan it mentioned (restricting everything that had sugar in it) and it really worked. After a couple of weeks I was breathing so well I was able to put my asthma medications away ; it was wonderful. I got into a good eating habit during this period but then came a long vacation period and I fell away from the diet plan. My breathing issues started again but not has bad as it was back in 2008.Now; I plan on purchasing this book again but for my Kindle so I won't loose it again.It was difficult avoiding all the foods mentioned in the book but when you are desperate you are willing to try anything and it helped and I believe it will help me again if I run into the serious issues again.

after one month my cough has almost gone. No cough at night and only a few times in the day. Still 2 months of the healing diet to go, I am sure it will be a complete success! My doctor would have had me on an expensive drug with awful side effects, instead this is freeing me naturally, and also showing me how much the sugar in all our processed foods is making Americans ill on a daily basis. Thank you Dr Pescatore! I am 74 and my doctor basically was accepting my condition as incurable and only going to get worse. So sad, how ignorant the medical establishment is about nutrition.

I thought this was more for food allergies. This is my fault as someone suggested it to me because my son has tons of allergies. I really did enjoy the read. I kind of skimmed past the parts that were about asthma. I read all of it about the allergies. I really like how it was mostly divided so that if you have one and not the other you did not have to read it all. It was overall a good read.

Good, but I found that my asthma went away completely when I eliminated gluten.

This is the second copy of this book I have purchased, I wore the first copy out. This book helped me with my asthma more than any doctor I've been to see.

This book basically says that candida yeast overgrowth is behind most asthma and allergy cases. There seems to be growing evidence that there is atleast some truth. Book includes practical methods how to get rid of it too.

I read this book with very great interest. It's the most promising and sensible approach I've seen to addressing the allergy and digestive problems I've been having for many years, which my own doctors have by trying ineffectively to treat by drugging the symptoms into submission. I intend to try the program.However, I expect to have some trouble talking my doctors into supporting this. Pescatore appears to have developed his "cure" based on a lot of clinical trial and error and some guesswork based on a rough theory that the problems are all rooted in leaky gut and candida yeast overgrowth. That kind of clinical approach is very valuable, but it takes more than that to really convince the medical community. Pescatore appears to have choosen to market his method directly to consumers via popular books and TV talk shows, rather than market it to the medical community via formal clinical studies or experimental research. Much of his suggested treatment is going to be questioned by the mainstream medical community. For instance, does it really make sense to eliminate all sugar from your diet when your body makes its own sugar from the foods you eat, so there will always still be lots of sugar in the bloodstream? Still, I have seen some medical research from other sources that hints that there really is something to his approach. For now, his approach may be the best available, though many of it's details are unproven.I also find it slightly off-putting that when I go to the store to get the macadamia nut oil that he heartly recommends, I find the oil is sold by him. (Though it really is good and healthy and was probably hard to get before he started marketing it.) When I go to the web site of the blood test company he recommends, there's his ringing endorsement. Pescatore Inc is there wherever I go.He's certainly not nearly as bad as other "show doctors" who build financial empires on dubious weightloss theories. His book clearly distinguishes between established medical fact and his own approaches. He's clearly aware of mainstream medical research and has been integrating it into his approach as far as possible. There's no crystal waving here. It's not quite science, but it's close, and it's may be the best we are going to get for a while. And his suggested treatment is, at the very least, less likely to do harm than all the medications my doctors have been suggesting.

Was one of those books. It spent 75% of the time describing what the symptoms are and how the mainstream medicine is dealing with it pharmaceutically. For someone who is looking for nutritional info and a focus on cure, as the title suggests this right of the bat is a dealbreaker.The paragraphs i liked were the ones explaining the different nutritional tests giving also an opinion on which one he thinks its best. The tests are the "RAST", "Cytotoxic test", "Histamine Release Test", ALCAT Test". Alcat test is endorsed.

and then I realized that over my time as a military physician, well I've done the majority of these procedures. Many of the procedures I would NOT do based solely on this book and illustrations, however as a quick refresher before doing something I haven't done in awhile (or many times) I can see it being very helpful. The procedures I'm doing most commonly at this point are the GYN ones, and I carefully reviewed their IUD insertion instructions and found them useful and accurate for example. I did laugh a bit as the spatula for a pap was not exactly to scale, but it was a good description of the procedure.I think what struck me most was the wide scope of what was chosen to be included--it's hard to imagine anyone doing a majority of these procedures in a calendar year. That said, though, I HAVE done most of them, whether it was a pathology or ER rotation as medical student/intern, or deployed as a general medical officer, during residency during Onc or ICU rotations, or even as staff--I've got many of them covered. I think I would have loved to have had this book in my pocket to sneak a peak at before starting a few of those things!Nicely done as well is that each topic has indications, contraindications, equipment needed, procedure description (with line drawn pictures that are clear), complications, coding and resources for more information. I'm not sure an FP or transitional intern would be doing a pericardiocentesis anymore.Also, I don't think this little book (typical Tarascon sized shirt pocket sized) would be the basis of all ones educational materials, HOWEVER it is full of useful reading and is a great memory aid. The vent setting description alone would have been very reassuring in my pocket rather than the hordes of heavier books that had similar information in a much more weighty (literally and figuratively) fashion.Recommended for anyone having a general approach to training and/or a broad based work situation. Also, great for medical students/interns to study up on procedures as well. For these groups this is a 4.5 star book--I really think given what else is in there, a few pages for shoulders and ganglions especially would suit. My professional bias insists that childbirth/perineal lacs and umbilical veins are also as important....I am rounding up to the whole 5 stars though.JTG

As a PA student, I know I can never possibly remember every exam and test for every condition. Having this allows me to refresh my memory without carrying around a textbook. If you are thinking of the kindle version to use on an iPhone 6, consider a few things- the pages don't really fit well so things get a bit off kilter and harder to read, also if an attending sees you reading this, you look smart. If they see you staring at your phone, you look like you are slacking off. I wish Tarascon sold these in sets, I'd probably buy more of them. If you buy this thinking you can learn to be a surgeon, you are delusional. This is a quick reference to refresh your memory or orient you to a procedure you are less familiar with, this isn't the quick guide to field medicine.

I saw this book while visiting the US Space and Rocket Center, and was really captivated by it... except for price. So when I got home I checked Amazon and found it much cheaper so I ordered.This book will really appeal to space geeks like me. There are millions of books of spaceflight pictures, but this is the only one that revolves around the T-38 training aircraft that the astronauts use to train.The images are well reproduced and 98% are ones that have not been published before. Some of the images are from the ground and others are from the cockpit while in flight.Overall in the end this book is great and I look at it frequently since it sits on my coffee table. The book will appeal to space geeks, but if you like good photography of airplanes in general, you will enjoy this book as well!

WOW, phenomenal book! I met Story this past week when we was a guest speaker at our aerospace program. I was so fortunate as to receive an award presented by him and attend a small VIP dinner in his honor. His stories and his spirit absolutely enthralled me and my husband and I ordered this book as soon as we realized it existed. I worked on one of the T-38 avionics upgrades and just bought this book on impulse to share it with the team. I expected some good photos but was completely unprepared for the quality and depth of the material.The photos are evocative. The narrative is intensely personal. This humble expression of such deep affection for this machine by a man of such lofty accomplishment was unexpected, heartwarming, and infectious.If you have any interest in aviation or photography at all, you will enjoy this.

Obviously, other forces are at work here, which makes the study of risk complex and nuanced.That said, risk management is a subject that deserves everyone's attention, to be sure.
