About the Author
Dennis is not new to automotive writing - besides authoring Fifties Fins, How to Restore Classic Toys, and History of the Tonka Toy Company, his work has appeared in Car Collector, Cars & Parts, Special Interest Autos, and Automobile Quarterly. He's been involved in the Society of Automotive Historians, American Truck Historical Society, Classic Car Club of America, Antique Automobile Club of America, amongst being involved with esteemed events like judging for the Greenwich Concours de Elegance and the Councours de Elegance of the Eastern United States. Best Tonka book by far gives you a good overview of the company and the toys.
Authors could have included more pictures of the various modelsI can remember so many more models that are not in this bookBook is a nice book to have though

I enjoyed the large, clear photos of the toys and the historical information that is presented in this book. Mr. Laumann is a former Tonka employee and must have an impressive collection of toys and memoribilia given all the credits he receives in this book. This book was a "walk down memory lane" for me as my mother was employed by Tonka Toys for 24 years, only ending with the plant's closure in Mound MN. Baby Boomers, take a look at this book--I'm sure that the photos will bring back memories of a sunny afternoon outside with your favorite Tonka toy.
This book is very interesting and has lots of good pictures and information but if you need a price guide - this is not it.
