As always June Kessler writes another outstanding cookbook filled with plenty of keeper recipes. Her newest cookbook, Coffee Cakes - Pound Cakes and Dessert Cakes is no different. Not only has Kessler offered up a good selection of recipes, but her cookbook is nicely formatted making it easy to navigate through her eBook.You will find plenty of traditional cakes and a few non-to-so traditional cakes to try. Some of the recipes you will find include:Kumquat Coffee Cake (not-so-traditional to me)Black and Blue Coffee CakeChocolate Chip Pound CakeOrange Angel Food CakeMix in the Pan Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese FrostingHighly recommend.
Coffee Cakes and Pound Cakes (Delicious Recipes)Few pictures and no nutritional information. Lots of helpful information about baking this type of cake.Other works by the author are highlighted at the end. Was let down when there were just a few pictures and the combinations of the food used sound good but would be nice to actually see the finished product.With the ingredients you can tell this is not a very healthy cake recipes. Even with modifications to the eggs and butter content it'd be hard to duplicate the flavor.
The recipes are varied and seem easy to make and interesting. Wish there were more pictures though.
Probably too many for your own good. My wife and I have always been partial to coffee cakes over iced cakes. We don't make them often but when we do we enjoy trying new ones. Have made a couple from this already and were not disappointed. Good addition to your cook book collection.
There really are some good recipes in this book. My hubby LOVES coffee cakes and pound cakes.I made the chocolate chip pound cake and it was 'da bomb! I made the raspberry coffee cake for me and needless to say, I now need to put a bit extra time on my exercise bike.This is a lovely collection and what I've tried; wonderful. Recommended. Thank you!
So far I have made two recipes from this book and both turned out great. What I like is that there are plenty of recipes you can make from ingredients you already have in your pantry so if you decide you want to whip up a coffee cake one morning there will likely be several you can make without a trip to the store. I look forward to trying more recipes.
Truly delicious and easy with many recipes for both coffee cakes and pound cakes. Pound cakes are easy to make and then freeze for unexpected guests, or planned gatherings. Wonderful served with topping and fruit.
This book has a good variety of recipes. I wasn't disappointed. As always, preview the book before you buy it to make sure it s what you are looking for.
