Jack Wintz, O.F.M., has been writing and editing for St. Anthony Messenger magazine since 1972. Excellent examination of a very emotional topic devoid of emotion in his analysis and conclusion. Friar Wintz uses Christian teaching, biblical references, St. Francis' interpretation of the subtleties of God's words and logic/common sense to also arrive at the answer contained within the book's title. Those who espouse a strictly literal interpretation of the bible will not be able fully understand or to accept St. Francis' correlation and relationship among all of God's creations and His own comments from Genesis through the New Testament. The bible contains any number of references to "the end time" when "the wolf shall lay down wit the lamb" and other insights into heaven. So much of what we Christians believe is based upon faith without supportive empirical data. Too many seem to know God's plan and his thought process. They will dismiss this book. Those who have formed unique bonds with all sorts of animals will accept that maybe, just maybe.they enjoy a different relationship with the Creator, based upon His love for them which is even greater than ours. An excellent book for all who have been privileged to share the bond between mankind and the animals.

A close friend of mine had his beloved dog of 13 years contract a terminal disease. We walked our dogs several times a day around our apartment complex. The dogs loved it and we got great enjoyment and peace from their enjoyment. When his dog died, I knew he was devastated by the loss. I have believed for a long time that our beloved animals will be with us in Heaven—not as the sick or broken bodies that they have at their passing. My current dog, Marietta, has been a blessing to my wife and I. Marietta carried us through several traumatic events. I wanted to share my belief with him but did not have the exact way to do it.I am one of those "despicable" people the Democrats keep complaining about—a firm belief in God. However, I have one over them. I believe I will meet my faithful companions (Ok, Lady Kitty owned me) when I get to Heaven. I feel sad that their ignorance of Jesus and his promises give them so much pain when a beloved pet dies.I searched the web for information and found Will I See my Dog in Heaven. This book is a comprehensive study of the Bible and the promises that our loved animals have souls and we will have them greet us as we enter eternity. Priceless.As Jack Wintz says, "...Christian belief in the Resurrection can lead us a step closer to the vision of the whole family of creation being included in God's plan." This book will be most familiar if you have a Roman Catholic background, but it has real basis for a belief in our eternal being.

Based on the Church's tradition, scripture and life of St Francis, Jack Wintz makes a powerful case that we will see our pets in heaven. For example, in the creation story, if God saw that what he created in the original paradise, not only humans but plants, animals and all of nature, was very good, then why would he exclude them from the final paradise? I would recommend that anyone who has lost a beloved pet or even has a living pet to read this encouraging and hopeful message based on sound principles.

As a practicing Catholic, I have always dismissed the old Catholic teaching that only humans went to heaven. I love animals, and I simply refused to believe that God would create such wonderful creatures only to take them away from us forever. I believe, as does Father Wintz and Francis of Assisi, that the divine exists in all of creation. I am so grateful for this book!

We just had our black lab to sleep and the one thing that runs through my mind is will I ever see her again. People always will say, sure you will, but that's not good enough. I want to know what the bible says based on evidence. This book does just that. Very good, I loved it.
